Guarding the Gates & Increasing Spiritual Capacity
Consecrate your gates. Enlarge your capacity. These prayers are designed to help you guard what enters and exits your life while increasing your ability to receive, carry, discern, and steward what God has entrusted to you.
Consecration → Guarding the Gates → Increasing Capacity → Daily Declaration
Guarding the Gates
Guard the pathways of influence into your heart, mind, spirit, and life. What repeatedly enters through the gates can eventually influence what takes root within.
Guard What I Behold
Consecrating what I repeatedly place before my eyes.
Psalm 101:3 • Matthew 6:22–23 • Job 31:1
Be intentional about what you repeatedly look at because sight can feed thoughts, desires, and affections.
Guard What I Receive
Discerning the voices and influences I continually receive.
Mark 4:24 • Proverbs 4:20–21
Not every voice deserves continuing access to me. What I continually hear can shape what I believe.
Guard What I Release
Bringing my words and speech under God's authority.
Psalm 141:3 • Proverbs 18:21 • Ephesians 4:29
My mouth is both an entrance and an exit. I must guard what I consume and what I release through speech.
Guard What I Entertain
Taking thoughts captive and governing what receives residence in my mind.
Philippians 4:8 • 2 Corinthians 10:5 • Romans 12:2
A thought appearing is not the same as giving it residence. I must examine and govern what I continually entertain.
Guard What Takes Root
Protecting the inner chamber from anything God did not plant.
Proverbs 4:23
The heart is the inner chamber. I must guard what I allow to enter, remain, grow, and establish roots within me.
Guard What I Participate In
Yielding my body and actions to God as instruments of righteousness.
Romans 12:1 • 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 • Romans 6:13
What I physically participate in matters spiritually. My body belongs to God and is to be yielded to Him.
Guard Where I Go
Consecrating my path, environments, destinations, and associations to God.
Proverbs 4:26–27 • Psalm 1:1 • Psalm 119:105
Guard where you go because environments can influence what you see, hear, desire, and eventually participate in.
Guarding determines what gains access. Prayer determines how much I am prepared to carry.
Increasing Spiritual Capacity
Prayer increases our capacity to receive, carry, discern, endure, obey, and properly steward what God entrusts to us.
Increase My Spiritual Capacity
A prayer for greater revelation, endurance, discernment, faith, authority, resistance, responsibility, spiritual gifts, obedience, and sensitivity to the Holy Ghost.
Jeremiah 33:3 • Ephesians 3:16 • Jude 20 • Acts 4:31
Guard Me as You Increase Me
A prayer for character, discernment, humility, boundaries, and obedience as God increases spiritual capacity and responsibility.
The Gatekeeper Declaration
Guarded Gates. Consecrated Heart. Increased Capacity.
A daily spoken declaration for consecrating every gate to God and preparing yourself to carry what He entrusts to you.
