PRAYER FOR DELIVERANCE AND FREEDOM

Breaking Bondage • Destroying Strongholds • Walking in Liberty

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36 (KJV)

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come boldly before Your throne of grace, acknowledging that You alone are God. You are our Creator, our Father, our Refuge, our Defender, our Deliverer, and our Strong Tower.

Your Word declares:

“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer.” — Psalm 18:2

Today, we come seeking complete deliverance and freedom through Jesus Christ.

Deliver our spirit, soul, and body.

Deliver our minds.

Deliver our hearts.

Deliver our families.

Deliver our homes.

Deliver us from bondage.

Deliver us from oppression.

Deliver us from deception.

Deliver us from destructive patterns.

Deliver us from every work of darkness that seeks to hinder our obedience, peace, purpose, and relationship with You.

WE BEGIN WITH REPENTANCE

Father, before we address anything operating against us, we first examine ourselves.

Your Word says:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” — James 4:7

Therefore, we first submit ourselves to You.

Search us, O God, and know our hearts. Try us and know our thoughts. See if there be any wicked way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting.

Forgive us for every sin committed in word, thought, or deed.

Forgive known sin.

Forgive secret sin.

Forgive repeated sin.

Forgive sins of commission and omission.

Forgive rebellion.

Forgive disobedience.

Forgive pride.

Forgive lust.

Forgive hatred.

Forgive jealousy.

Forgive bitterness.

Forgive unforgiveness.

Forgive manipulation.

Forgive dishonesty.

Forgive idolatry.

Forgive greed.

Forgive envy.

Forgive wrath.

Forgive gossip.

Forgive slander.

Forgive sexual immorality.

Forgive drunkenness.

Forgive every work of the flesh.

Father, we do not excuse our sins—we confess them.

Your Word declares:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

Wash us.

Cleanse us.

Purify us.

Create in us clean hearts and renew right spirits within us.

WE RENOUNCE EVERY AGREEMENT WITH DARKNESS

Father, wherever we knowingly or unknowingly came into agreement with something contrary to Your Word, we repent and renounce that agreement.

We renounce every lie we believed.

We renounce every ungodly vow.

We renounce every sinful covenant.

We renounce every ungodly agreement.

We renounce every destructive habit.

We renounce every practice contrary to Your Word.

We renounce every form of occult involvement, witchcraft, divination, sorcery, spiritualism, fortune-telling, astrology, mediums, familiar spirits, charms, spells, incantations, and every attempt to obtain spiritual knowledge or power outside of God.

We renounce every object, practice, relationship, entertainment, or activity that knowingly draws us toward darkness.

We declare according to Ephesians 5:11:

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

We choose Jesus Christ.

We choose truth.

We choose holiness.

We choose obedience.

We choose light.

WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO HAVE HURT US

Father, we recognize that unforgiveness can become a prison of the soul.

Therefore, by an act of our will, we choose forgiveness.

We forgive those who rejected us.

We forgive those who abandoned us.

We forgive those who betrayed us.

We forgive those who lied about us.

We forgive those who abused their authority.

We forgive those who wounded us.

We forgive parents.

We forgive spouses.

We forgive children.

We forgive family members.

We forgive church leaders.

We forgive friends.

We forgive coworkers.

We forgive those who never apologized.

We forgive those who may never understand what they did.

Forgiveness does not call evil good, nor does it prevent righteous boundaries or accountability. But we refuse to allow bitterness to rule our hearts.

As Christ forgave us, help us to forgive.

Remove bitterness.

Remove hatred.

Remove revenge.

Remove resentment.

Heal the wounds beneath the anger.

DELIVER OUR MINDS

Father, deliver our minds from every thought pattern contrary to Your Word.

Your Word declares:

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” — 2 Corinthians 10:4

Therefore, let strongholds fall.

Deliver us from tormenting thoughts.

Deliver us from obsessive thoughts.

Deliver us from destructive imaginations.

Deliver us from lies concerning our identity.

Deliver us from hopelessness.

Deliver us from condemnation.

Deliver us from confusion.

Deliver us from irrational fear.

Deliver us from thoughts designed to pull us away from truth.

We cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and we bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Give us the mind of Christ.

Renew our minds through Your Word.

Teach us to recognize the difference between truth and deception.

Let Your Word become the standard by which every thought is judged.

DELIVER US FROM FEAR

Father, Your Word declares:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

Therefore, deliver us from the bondage of fear.

Fear of death.

Fear of sickness.

Fear of failure.

Fear of rejection.

Fear of abandonment.

Fear of people.

Fear of the future.

Fear of poverty.

Fear of being alone.

Fear of spiritual attack.

Fear of what might happen.

Fear of what has already happened.

Where fear has ruled our decisions, replace it with faith.

Where fear has silenced us, give us courage.

Where fear has paralyzed us, give us strength.

We declare:

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” — Psalm 27:1

BREAK STRONGHOLDS AND BONDAGES

Father, expose every stronghold that has attempted to establish itself within our lives.

Strongholds of pride.

Strongholds of lust.

Strongholds of anger.

Strongholds of bitterness.

Strongholds of rejection.

Strongholds of fear.

Strongholds of addiction.

Strongholds of deception.

Strongholds of jealousy.

Strongholds of control.

Strongholds of manipulation.

Strongholds of rebellion.

Strongholds of shame.

Strongholds of condemnation.

Strongholds of unforgiveness.

Strongholds of destructive thinking.

Strongholds of habitual sin.

By the power of Your truth, tear them down.

Jesus said:

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32

Therefore, expose every lie supporting our bondage and replace it with truth.

DELIVER US FROM OPPRESSION

Father, Your Word says concerning Jesus:

“Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” — Acts 10:38

Therefore, let every form of spiritual oppression be broken through the authority of Jesus Christ.

Where darkness has attempted to weigh heavily upon us, let Your light shine.

Where torment has attempted to invade our peace, let the peace of Christ rule.

Where confusion has attempted to overwhelm our minds, bring clarity.

Where spiritual heaviness has settled upon us, give us “the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” according to Isaiah 61:3.

Let the oppressed go free.

DELIVER US FROM TEMPTATION

Father, deliver us not only from attacks around us but also from sinful desires operating within us.

Jesus taught us to pray:

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” — Matthew 6:13

Therefore, deliver us from temptation.

Show us the exits You provide.

Give us strength to flee youthful lusts.

Give us wisdom to avoid environments that repeatedly lead us into sin.

Give us courage to end relationships that continually pull us away from You.

Give us discipline concerning what we watch.

Guard our eyes.

Guard our ears.

Guard our mouths.

Guard our hearts.

Guard our hands.

Guard our feet.

Guard our bodies.

Guard our appetites.

Guard our desires.

Let sin no longer have dominion over us.

BREAK DESTRUCTIVE GENERATIONAL PATTERNS

Father, we acknowledge that families can pass down learned behaviors, destructive habits, wounds, attitudes, addictions, dysfunction, and sinful patterns from generation to generation.

But we declare that our identity and future are found in Jesus Christ.

Your Word declares:

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, let destructive patterns stop with us.

Where generations practiced hatred, teach us love.

Where generations practiced addiction, establish self-control.

Where generations practiced abuse, establish gentleness and righteousness.

Where generations practiced abandonment, establish faithfulness.

Where generations practiced sexual immorality, establish purity.

Where generations practiced uncontrolled anger, establish peace.

Where generations practiced financial irresponsibility, establish wisdom and stewardship.

Where generations practiced unforgiveness, establish forgiveness.

Where generations practiced rebellion against God, establish obedience.

We will not excuse sinful behavior simply because it has existed in our families for generations.

Through Jesus Christ, we choose a different path.

DELIVER OUR HOMES AND FAMILIES

Father, establish Your presence within our homes.

Let our houses become places of prayer.

Let our houses become places of worship.

Let our houses become places where Your Word is honored.

Let husbands walk in righteousness.

Let wives walk in righteousness.

Let fathers lead with wisdom.

Let mothers walk in strength and grace.

Protect sons.

Protect daughters.

Protect grandchildren.

Protect grandparents.

Protect our elders.

Let reconciliation come where reconciliation is righteous.

Let salvation come to unbelieving family members.

Let prodigal sons and daughters return to You.

Break destructive cycles.

Heal broken relationships.

Restore communication.

Restore honor.

Restore love.

Restore godly order.

We declare with Joshua:

“As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15

DELIVER US FROM DECEPTION

Father, Jesus warned that deception would increase.

Therefore, sharpen our discernment.

Do not allow us to believe something merely because it sounds spiritual.

Teach us to try the spirits whether they are of God according to 1 John 4:1.

Let Your Word judge every prophecy.

Let Your Word judge every doctrine.

Let Your Word judge every revelation.

Let Your Word judge every dream.

Let Your Word judge every spiritual experience.

Let Your Word judge every teaching.

Protect us from false prophets.

Protect us from false teachers.

Protect us from false apostles.

Protect us from seducing spirits.

Protect us from doctrines of devils.

Protect us from signs and wonders designed to deceive.

Give us love for truth.

Give us discernment.

Give us wisdom.

Give us understanding.

Give us ears to hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

PUT THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD UPON US

Father, according to Ephesians 6:10–18, strengthen us in the Lord and in the power of His might.

We put on the whole armour of God.

Gird our loins with truth.

Place upon us the breastplate of righteousness.

Shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

Above all, we take the shield of faith, wherewith we shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

We take the helmet of salvation.

We take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Teach us to pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.

Make us watchful.

Make us sober.

Make us vigilant.

Make us discerning.

Make us steadfast.

WE RESIST THE DEVIL

Father, because we have submitted ourselves unto You, we now stand upon James 4:7:

“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

In the name of Jesus Christ, we resist every work of darkness sent against our obedience to God.

We resist temptation.

We resist accusation.

We resist condemnation.

We resist deception.

We resist division.

We resist confusion.

We resist fear.

We resist spiritual intimidation.

We resist every attempt of the enemy to draw us back into what Christ has brought us out of.

We will not return to bondage.

We will not rebuild what God has torn down.

We will not reopen doors that repentance has closed.

We stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free.

LET THE LIGHT OF CHRIST FILL EVERY PLACE

Father, we do not merely ask You to remove darkness.

Fill us.

Fill us with Your Holy Spirit.

Fill us with truth.

Fill us with wisdom.

Fill us with righteousness.

Fill us with peace.

Fill us with joy.

Fill us with holiness.

Fill us with love.

Fill us with faith.

Fill us with the knowledge of Your Word.

Fill every place that once housed bondage with the things of God.

Jesus warned concerning an unclean spirit leaving and later attempting to return to an empty house in Matthew 12:43–45.

Therefore, Father, do not allow our lives to remain spiritually empty.

Fill the house.

Occupy every room.

Rule every area.

Take authority over our thoughts, desires, relationships, habits, decisions, finances, bodies, homes, ministries, and futures.

We belong to Jesus Christ.

CLOSE EVERY DOOR

Father, give us wisdom to recognize doors that must remain closed.

If something repeatedly draws us into sin, give us courage to remove it.

If a relationship continually pulls us away from You, give us wisdom concerning it.

If entertainment contaminates our minds, give us discipline to turn away.

If environments weaken our convictions, give us strength to leave.

If habits continually reopen bondage, give us grace to change them.

Your Word commands:

“Neither give place to the devil.” — Ephesians 4:27

Therefore, teach us not to give the enemy territory through deliberate disobedience.

RESTORE WHAT BONDAGE STOLE

Father, restore what seasons of bondage have damaged.

Restore peace.

Restore joy.

Restore dignity.

Restore confidence.

Restore healthy relationships.

Restore spiritual hunger.

Restore prayer.

Restore worship.

Restore discipline.

Restore clarity.

Restore purpose.

Restore years.

Restore opportunities according to Your will.

Restore our testimony.

Let the places where we once experienced bondage become places from which we testify about Your delivering power.

KEEP US FREE

Father, deliverance is not merely coming out—it is learning how to remain free.

Teach us to abide in Christ.

Teach us to remain in Your Word.

Teach us to pray.

Teach us to fast according to Your leading.

Teach us to worship.

Teach us obedience.

Teach us accountability.

Teach us discipline.

Teach us to recognize temptation early.

Teach us to flee when Your Word tells us to flee.

Teach us to resist when Your Word tells us to resist.

Teach us to forgive quickly.

Teach us to repent quickly.

Teach us to keep our hearts clean before You.

Your Word declares:

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” — Galatians 5:1

Father, help us stay free.
