Know Your Position in Christ
"And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."— Matthew 16:19 (KJV)
Welcome, Warrior. Before you can fight, you must first understand who you are. Too many believers know they are saved but never discover the authority Jesus has already placed in their hands. This week is not about doing more — it is about seeing differently. By the end of this lesson, you should leave with confidence that you belong to Christ, that He has given you authority, and that your spiritual life has a purpose beyond simply making it to heaven. Your goal this week is simple: Learn who you are in Christ.
This Week You Will Learn
By the end of this week, you will understand:
- Jesus has already won the victory.
- You have been given spiritual authority.
- Your greatest battle is spiritual — not against people.
- God gave the Fivefold Ministry to help you grow.
Lesson 1 — Jesus Has Already Won
Before you ever faced a battle, Jesus had already secured the victory. Matthew 16:19 (KJV) "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Jesus didn't leave you empty-handed. He gave you the keys of His Kingdom. Keys represent access, authority, and responsibility. You are not powerless — you have been trusted with Kingdom authority. Takeaway: I have been given authority through Jesus Christ.
Lesson 2 — You Are Not Powerless
Luke 10:19 (KJV) "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Jesus didn't promise you would never face opposition, but He did promise you would never face it alone. The same Lord who saved you also empowered you. Takeaway: I don't fight for victory — I fight from victory.
Lesson 3 — Your Battle Is Bigger Than People
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." One of the greatest lessons you can learn is that people are not your enemy. Behind many battles is a spiritual conflict that requires spiritual wisdom. When you understand this, you stop reacting in the flesh and begin responding in faith. Takeaway: My greatest battles are spiritual, so my greatest weapons must also be spiritual.
Lesson 4 — You Were Never Meant to Grow Alone
Ephesians 4:11-12 (KJV) "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." God never intended for believers to figure everything out alone. He gave leaders to equip, strengthen, encourage, and mature His people. Growth happens faster when we are willing to be taught. Takeaway: God has placed people in my life to help me grow.
Your Challenge This Week
Every morning this week, read these four statements aloud:
- Jesus has already won my victory.
- I have authority through Christ.
- My battle is spiritual, not against people.
- God is teaching and preparing me for greater things.
Before You Move to Week 2…
Spend just five minutes each day thinking about one of these truths and ask God to help you see yourself the way He sees you. Ask yourself: • Do I believe Jesus has given me authority? • Have I been fighting people instead of recognizing the real battle? • Am I willing to let God teach and mature me? If you can answer "Yes" to these questions, you've accomplished this week's mission.
Mission Complete
This week you didn't learn how to fight. You learned who you are. Next week, you'll begin Conditioning — taking these truths and turning them into daily habits that strengthen your walk with Christ.
