The Talents
Faithfulness Requires Movement
Matthew 25:14-30 (KJV)
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things.”
The master entrusted different amounts according to each servant’s ability. The first two acted and increased what they received. The third buried his talent, blaming fear and a distorted view of his master. The issue was not equal results but faithful stewardship.
Comparison can make us dismiss what God placed in our hands. Fear can disguise itself as caution, while unused ability slowly becomes buried potential. God does not ask you to reproduce another servant’s assignment. He calls you to employ your time, influence, knowledge, opportunity, and spiritual gifts for His purposes.
What have you buried because of fear, comparison, disappointment, or perfectionism? What small faithful use of that trust is possible now?
Name one entrusted gift and put it to work today. Make the call, write the page, teach the lesson, serve the person, or begin the project.
Master, everything in my hands came from You. Correct every false belief that makes me fearful and inactive. Give me courage, diligence, and faithfulness so that what You entrusted produces fruit for Your kingdom. Amen.
